Make the Most Out of Your Bath
Taking a bath doesn't just have to be about getting clean. It can be a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for your whole body. Opt for making your next bath more about the experience than the task. You can always do a quick shower afterward to wash your hair and shave.
SOOTHING + RELAXING
The best part about a bath is slipping into the warm water and feeling your entire body relax. However, it feels like that soothing sensation wears off rather quickly as your body acclimates to the temperature. Enhance that soothing feeling by adding essential oils to your bath water. Lavender and rose are great for calming your body and they make your bathroom smell amazing. You can also find bath salts in tons of soothing scents, or you can add Epsom salts to help soothe sore muscles.
AMBIANCE
Sometimes a bath is just a way to get a little alone time from the kids and work. If you decide to bring your cell phone in the bathroom with you, keep it on the counter out of reach. Having it to close will distract you, plus you don’t want to drop it in the tub. Lighting candles and turning the lights down low will help you have a more relaxing experience. You can also pour yourself a glass of red wine or even a nice green smoothie (whatever tickles your fancy) and play some calming music.
EXFOLIATING
Taking a bath is the perfect time to get your skin feeling fresh and healthy. Exfoliating is something we often forget about during a quick shower. Use a pumice stone or foot file to get the dead skin off your heels and spa gloves for all over exfoliation. You can even take it a step further and do some dry brushing which has numerous health benefits!
HYDRATING
Hydrating your skin both in and out of the bath will lead to optimal results and the silkiest skin. While you’re in the bath use a hydrating bath bomb or bubble bar. Once you have finished with your soak and dried off, we suggest applying a body oil or an ultra moisturizing lotion all over. Don’t forget to moisturize trouble spots like heels, hands, knees, elbows, and face (always use a face moisturizer intended for your skin type.) If you’re needing a little extra boost you can use aloe infused socks and gloves.
